Trade Shows:
The Gold Coast Marine Industry Association, in conjunction with Gold Coast City
Council and the Australian Marine Industry Export group (AMIEX), is assisting
members to reach valuable export markets through jointly funded and subsidised
displays at Fort Lauderdale Boat Show and the Dubai International Boat Show.

Marine Industry Supply Chain Research Study:
Collaborative industry research has been undertaken by the Brisbane-based management consulting firm Gibsons JBS, to develop an Action Plan that will provide the knowledge and means of increasing marine industry collaboration, increase sales and employment and access opportunities for local manufacture with consequent improved profitability of all supply chain contributors to this growing sector.
This report’s findings and recommendations were submitted to stakeholders on February 14, 2007.

To assist members to expand their local, interstate and overseas markets,
the Association is currently planning the following initiatives:

The development of generic promotional materials.

Production of newsletters and membership directories.

Facilitating forums and seminars covering appropriate business
issues.

Industry lobbying to address business constraints such as
transport and environmental issues and supporting business infrastructure.
- Collaborative buying programs.
- Superyacht berthing facilities for the Gold Coast.
- An advanced internationally recognised ‘Centre of
Excellence’ incorporating research and training for the marine
industry.
